I took the *** tour last Saturday. However, unbelievably, the bus left us, a family of two adults and two kids, in the middle of nowhere at the station between Seville and Granada because we were late by 12 minutes for the bus due to an urgent emergency with my young daughter, without making any effort from the tour guide to contact or check on us. I am sure that no attempt was made to reach out to us, as I was standing about 20 meters from the supermarket door. Also, nobody called or WhatsApped me, although I was communicating with two numbers on WhatsApp during the morning.
To be leave us behind in an unfamiliar location with young children, without any notice or call, is something I never expected from a professional tour company. This experience was not only distressing but also unprecedented.
Upon calling the company they offered no opology or any possibility of a partial refund for the EUR*** we have paid, instead they said it was our fault and the only way to rejoin the tour is to take the taxi which will cost us EUR*** to granada and wait two hours to catch the last activity of the Alhambra tour which we did as we didn't haven't other choice.
While I completely understand and respect the need to adhere to group schedules for smooth operations, I also believe the tour guide carries a basic responsibility to look after their group and show consideration in case of unexpected situations, especially when involving children. Several fellow passengers also expressed their surprise when they learned what had happened.
More disappointingly, when we approached the tour guide at the Alhambra Tourist Center, she showed no empathy or understanding of the situation, and instead focused on defending her decision without acknowledging the impact it had on my family.
This level of disregard and lack of professionalism from the tour guide and company not only ruined the primary purpose of our trip but also caused us significant distress and extra financial cost. We chose the company based on the high reviews, and this experience has fallen far below those expectations.
I have requested a formal investigation into this incident and an officials apology for the inconvenience caused to my family. Yet no response was received from the company after one week of my complaint
